From Galway to Sydney: The Story Behind Pair People

We’re three childhood friends from Galway (the kind of mates who’ve known each other since before LinkedIn existed). Over a decade ago, we moved to Sydney chasing sunshine and opportunity, and somewhere along the way… we stayed.


What started as a big move turned into big careers in recruitment. We each spent years working inside some of the industry’s biggest firms, helping companies scale their teams fast. But as time went on, something didn’t sit right.


We kept seeing the same pattern:

📉 Companies calling in recruiters too late.

📉 Panic hires.

📉 Teams growing without intention.


The result? Stress for the founders. Burnout for the teams. Mis-hires that cost more than just money.


But when we did get brought in early, when we had the chance to understand the mission, meet the team, and shape the hiring strategy from the ground up, things just worked. The hires stuck. The culture clicked. Founders breathed easier.


So we stopped waiting for the late calls and decided to do something different.
